Just can’t find the time to share your stories? We hear you. By using episodes 1-4 in this Storytelling 101 series, you have all the material you need to empower your student(s) to tell their own stories! The art of impactful storytelling is a great skill to learn at any age! Take the task off of your plate and add it to theirs. Plus, perks…you didn’t even need to create the instructional materials!
Students in the Classroom
Invite students to share a story about a positive school experience! This low-stakes activity serves as a great bellringer for all students or enrichment activity for students when they finish their work early. Have students share their stories with you, then post to social (or you can share them with us)! P.S. Also a great bulletin board idea! Check out these Instagram templates here!
Students at Home
Is your student sharing stories from school when they get home in the afternoon? Capitalize on that enthusiasm and invite them to share their stories with a wider audience!
Snap a photo of your child proudly hanging their schoolwork on the fridge and allow them to share a snippet about their day!
Turn on your camera and interview your student in all their animated glory as they tell you about a meaningful interaction they had at school! No writing required!
Don’t forget to #MaineLovesPublicSchools!
Students in the Community

However you engage with Maine youth, they surely have lots of stories to share with you! As a coach, tutor, caretaker, and more, you are a trusted person in students’ lives and you likely hear lots about students’ day-to-day public school experiences! The next time a student can’t wait to tell you a story, encourage them to channel that energy into writing, snap a photo, and post to social (or share with us)!
